Privacy Policy

Overview

BodySignal is a wellness app that finds personal sleep patterns in your existing Apple Watch history and helps you run structured sleep experiments. The current app is designed to analyze Health data on your iPhone.

Apple Health data BodySignal reads

With your permission, the active BodySignal sleep flow reads:

• Sleep analysis, including sleep timing and duration.
• Heart rate samples used to estimate heart rate during sleep.
• Heart rate variability (HRV) where available.

BodySignal does not write data to Apple Health. You can change Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.

How Health data is used

Health data is used to construct valid sleep nights, compare later sleep with your typical timing, evaluate a 14-day caffeine-cutoff experiment, and explain data quality or limitations. BodySignal does not use Health data for advertising, marketing profiles, insurance decisions, or data-broker activity.

On-device storage and analysis

Imported sleep history, historical findings, experiment schedules, daily adherence answers, and experiment results are stored as local BodySignal data on your iPhone. The current app does not operate a server that stores or analyzes your raw Health values.

Product analytics

The current app records a limited set of product-flow events locally, such as whether a screen was viewed, whether a purchase was completed, and whether an experiment check-in was submitted. These events do not include Health values, sleep times, effect sizes, verdicts, adherence answers, notes, source identifiers, or names. The current build does not send those local product-flow records to a remote analytics service.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. BodySignal receives verified transaction and entitlement status from StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.

Sharing and exports

BodySignal does not automatically share your historical finding or experiment result. If an export or share action is available, data leaves the app only after you explicitly choose the iOS share destination. Internal simulated QA data cannot be shared from the app.

What we do not do

• No advertisements.
• No sale, rental, or trade of Health data.
• No third-party advertising or data-broker use of Health data.
• No medical diagnosis, treatment, prevention, or emergency monitoring.
• No use of Health data to determine purchase eligibility or pricing.

Deleting local BodySignal data

Deleting BodySignal from your iPhone removes the app’s locally stored data. It does not delete the underlying data stored by Apple Health. Purchase history remains managed by Apple and may be restorable after reinstalling.

Children's privacy

BodySignal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when BodySignal’s data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated.
